More BSA's - ready to ride.

Shawn Smith and Bill Lumm, manning the signup counter. Thanks, guys!

Royce Klein and grandson. It sure is great to see the youngsters come out and compete in the youth Trials!

Steve Rosenstiel rode his beautiful '53 Matchless in the Reliability Run, and had a ball!

These fellows are actually quite friendly, despite looking a bit grumpy here. They had just rolled out of the sack!
Yes, the Avatar image is an actual picture of me - back when I was younger and handsomer.

Some gr-r-r-eat coverage so far.

Here's my write-up of the event:

www.tigerboy.com/ovbsa/jun2013/index.html

My website also features two earlier write-ups in 2012 and 2011.

Sadly I probably can't make the August Rally. A couple weeks ago, I ruptured the achilles tendon in my right foot, just by running around the house! The next day I had surgery and now I've been hobbling around on crutches ever since. While I have gained some motion in my right root, it's still swollen and it's a long road to recovery. I'll be lucky if I get back on the bike in 3 months. Everybody says it will probably take even longer than that. Safe to say all my summer plans are shot.

Funny how this happened, I wasn't on my motorcycle, but at least it happened at home where I was handy to the local hospital.

I just spent quite a while reading your rides, looking at your pics and re-living our ride on some of the same roads & places. Follansbee, Eldersville, Avella, rtes 2, 7, 18, 19, 22. Cables Campground, WV Panhamdle, Ohio River, etc.
Memories of happy days, Thank you

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery

Yes..thanks for the pics & summary. Have only made one rally - hoping stars align for spring 2014. August conflicts unfortunately.

Having grown up just a couple counties north east of Steubenville in what without much argument could be considered the best example of Ohio rust-bucketry (Youngstown, Ohio), and with family just up the river from Steubenville, (Wellsville & East Liverpool) I am pretty familiar with that neck of the woods - so did enjoy the trip back through time by way of your photo's.

One thing of interest - Mingo Junction was used for the mill town scenes used in The Deer Hunter.
