RICH B,
I cleaned the carb, there was spark, checked for oil in the oil tank and drained some to look for......I don't know, maybe chunks of crud, rusty water, rat piss in there. Then I filled the carb with gas and fired that mother up. A small puff of blue smoke and then it settled down into a regular lunger heart beat. The sound took me back 50+ years to a spot just over the hill on the pipeline. I took this animal down to the no-way-out-but-straight-up bottom of this hillside just so that I had no way out but straight up. Twasn't one witness to witness a moment of glory in my life. I'll never forget that hill climb again thanks to the Gold Star coming back to me like Lassie did. |

I applied for a duplicate title for this Catalina Gold Star. I titled it in 1967. The bike is about a 1958 vintage. Pennsylvania Dept.of Transportation says it has no record of the numbers on my Gold Star's frame. It's eight characters long. CB32-6### Anybody have any suggestions about getting a duplicate PA title for an old bike? I'd be tickled pink if somebody had the magic words for Penn Dot.

I sold the Catalina Scrambler to a guy who said he was representing a buyer, but when he saw it and rode it he changed his tune he was going to keep it and ride it around swap meets. Here's a link to a short video of me riding the BSA 500 for the guy. He took a short ride and began loading it before I saw any money. "Wait a minute! I want to see some green stuff before you load it," I said to him. He then laid out 50 big ones on the tailgate of his truck.

Looks pretty well hammered to me. That's a lot of dough for one without a title.
