TOPIC: Year and Model

Year and Model 9 years 1 month ago #1117

I currently own a 1970 B25 Starfire and hope to get a 1971 B25 Goldstar soon. My issue is that my father rode a BSA many years ago and nobody can tell me what model or year the bike was that is in the attached picture. My father was killed in an industrial accident when I was 2 years old and one of the few photos we have is him on this bike. I have rode bikes since I was 6 years old and love the look of the old BSA bikes. Please let me know any information that you know about this bike. Thanks... Steve

BSA A10 or A7, not sure of year but somebody will know more details on this forum. You might look at owner's pictures on the A7/A10 forum at www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php?topic=7964.0

Rightshift,

Go to britbike.com and click on BSA Information. In there, you can enter the serial number(s). Info on your bike will come right up. Note, you must enter both the frame number and the engine number.
Never met a motorcycle I didn't like.

Take a look at the 1957 A10 picture on the following page:

www.classic-british-motorcycles.com/bsa-a10.html

If not that, some other might match your Dad's pictured bike.

I'm gonna venture a guess of 58-59 A7 or A10. Has the BSA wheel hubs and dual exhaust.

I seem to recall 57 having Ariel hubs and 60-61 had the siamesed exhaust.

Here is a picture of a 1960 BSA Golden Flash which has many features that match your Dad's bike. One thing you could do is Google different year BSA A10 images and try to match it up, then purchase Kim's BSA cd's and look at parts books to see what matches.
