In order to get something chromed, what all needs to be done as far as prepping? Obviously de-greasing if grease is present, anything else?
I've got a rear fender for my B44VS jigsaw puzzle that has a small split/crack in it. If I get it welded on the inside of the fender, the chrome on the outside will discolor I'm sure. So I was thinking that if I need to get it chromed, it might be better cost wise to get the exhaust system, the grab rail and the wheels done too. Would the exhaust need to be clean on the inside of both the pipe and the muffler and if so, what's a good no nonsense way to do this? Contact the good folks at Reckon Plating, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tim. I've had them do a lot of work for me, and while I do a good bit of prep work in advance, they've told me not to bother.
