I am a big fan of vintage photographs. With a little studying, there is often a lot of cool information you can find in them. Check this one out. Evidently, taken in front of a BSA dealership, in 1934. For one thing, I LOVE the bike. Dig the clothes, too. When was the last time anyone dressed like that?
Look at the far right of the picture. Doesn't that look like the hose of a gas pump? Imagine, petrol available right at the curb. Also, what's that hose hanging in the doorway to the shop for? Maybe an air hose? Why else would the shop be displaying a length of hose - especially in such a location? Finally, where do you think the photo was taken? All the lettering in the shop window in English, and she's got the bike pointed for left-side-of-the-road departure. What's with the mounting of the license plate on the front of the bike, though? That does not match the British-method of registration display, from what I understand. |
